zdigital What we said: Scottish experimental hip-hop producer Ewan “Offshore” Robertson sadly passed away in 2012, during heart surgery. Now Ninja Tune-offshoot Big Dada Records pay their respects to the hugely talented beatmaker and sometime graphic designer of the label through the release of this posthumous record. At the time of his passing, Robertson’s album was almost complete, requiring his family to tie the final ends together “as close to his original intentions as they could manage”. The result is a hauntingly beautiful montage of the bubbling synths and crisp beats which first caught critics’ attention on 2012’s Bake Haus. The record is blessed with a slew of remixes from Ikonika, Blue Daisy and Amon Tobin, each artist paying tribute to this true musical innovator.
