Quite the contrary, in fact: this 10th LP finds the self-proclaimed “God of F**k” seemingly taking more delight than ever in pushing the buttons of his – historically, extremely vocal – critics. Created collaboratively with Hollywood composer Tyler Bates – who also worked on Manson’s last LP The Pale Emperor – the songs on Heaven Upside Down have been billed by Manson himself as being artistically indebted to Bauhaus, Killing Joke, Joy Division, and Bowie’s 80s classic Scary Monsters & Super Creeps. Thematically, expect a 18+ mix of sex and violence, with a healthy smattering of political takedowns, on tracks like ‘We Know Where You F**king Live’.
