zdigital What we said: Yorkshire-born soul singer John Newman got his big break lending vocals to Rudimental’s 2012 smash ‘Feel The Love’. A year on, he’s now a number one recording artist in his own right, having dominated the charts with his debut single ‘Love Me Again’ back in May. The songs on the full-length largely follow the same formula, combining bursts of beatific brass, lush string arrangements and house music-inflected piano hooks with Newman’s own treacle-smooth croon. Tribute’s not going to win Newman any prizes for innovation but who cares when it delivers uplifting, infectious pop in spades.
