zdigital What we said: Only a year after releasing Righteous Fists of Harmony on Brainfeeder, Alfred Darlington is already unveiling his latest creation, this time on Ninja Tune. With a lesser artist we might approach such a hastily-composed album with caution, but it’s credit to Daedelus’ prolific talent that we know not to expect an off-the-peg, one-size-fits-all approach to electronica from him any time soon. Utilising a disparate array of vocalists that range from Inara George to Bilal, and taking in everything from lounge brass to Regency harpsichord, his seemingly endless flights of musical fancy are stitched into one cohesive long-player by his skillful hand. Bespoke is joyous, intelligent electronica at its finest and, as its title implies, truly the work of a master craftsman.
